Purpose of School of Deliverance

Deliverance

Deliverance is a vital yet often misunderstood ministry in the body of Christ. It is not only freedom from demonic powers but also restoration to God’s divine order and purpose. It is the process through which believers are set free from spiritual bondage, curses, and demonic influence caused by past experiences, upbringing, and circumstances.

While salvation grants eternal life, many Christians still grapple with hidden spiritual chains; sin, curses, and oppression that hinder their growth, joy, and effectiveness in God’s kingdom. The Greek word for “saved,” Sōzō, means more than being rescued from sin; it includes healing, deliverance, preservation, and protection. Romans 1:16 emphasizes that salvation implies deliverance, preservation, soundness, and prosperity. Therefore, salvation is comprehensive, encompassing the fullness of God’s plan for wholeness and victory.

Deliverance is the practical application of the victory Jesus won on the cross, freeing believers from oppression, spiritual bondage, and curses so that they may walk in liberty and purpose. In the early Church (Acts 19:19), deliverance was an integral part of discipling new believers and purifying the body of Christ from the works of darkness. While salvation begins the journey, deliverance establishes and empowers believers to walk in sustained victory.

The enemy resists deliverance because it liberates God’s people. Students are therefore urged to avoid absenteeism, excuses, distractions, and compromises. Thursdays are designated as a sacred day for this class, with consistent attendance essential. Practical sessions require
physical presence, though remote participation may be guided online. These hands-on sessions are crucial for experiencing true and lasting freedom.

Equally important is the theory portion of the curriculum, as understanding biblical truths prepares believers to break spiritual strongholds and maintain victory. This curriculum, developed over many years by Pastor James Nganga and his team, has transformed countless lives.

Founding of the School of Counselling, Deliverance, and Healing

The school was co-founded by Prophet Muna and Pastor Agnes Muna, who established a board as the governing body and a secretariat as the management and teaching staff. Initially operating from Chrisco Kawangware, the school’s motto was: “Counselling with a Real Difference.”

According to Prophet Muna, many born-again believers were ineffective in their spiritual walk. The original purpose of the school included:

The initial areas of focus were:

Cleanse your life

Cleanse your marriage

Cleanse your walk

Cleanse your business

Deliverance was intertwined with intercession, specifically for Kenya. Initially conducted at Prophet Muna’s home in Mugoya Estate, South C, the growing number of participants prompted Apostle Harry Das to relocate classes to Kawangware Church, and subsequently to a rented hall at St. Christopher’s School. Prophet Muna not only taught biblical truths but applied them in his own life and family, modelling practical deliverance for students.

Ordination and Commissioning of Pastor James Nganga One of Prophet Muna’s students, Pastor James Nganga, was ordained and commissioned by Prophet Muna to start the Deliverance Class at Chrisco Church, Athi River. Under his leadership, the class continues the mission of equipping believers with biblical understanding, practical deliverance skills, and the ability to minister freedom to others.

The Deliverance Class equips believers with a biblical understanding of freedom in Christ, exposes strategies of the enemy, and provides practical steps to experience total liberation through the power of the Holy Spirit. Through the curriculum, students learn to identify and break curses, address foundational problems, overcome generational issues, and walk in the authority Christ has given.
